Return to the main Bay Area section

Pier 39 Sea Lions

I know that Pier 39 is a tourist haven and that many locals probably wouldn't wish to go, but the sea lions are entertaining. Noisy and rambunctious, they were in a constant state of shifting, sliding, playing and fighting.

Like a million other tourists across the world, we now have our very own sea lion photographs. We really did enjoy the animals and we lingered there for quite a while before moving on. (Barton shows his great photography skills by making it appear like a post is growing out the top of Sarah's head - May 18, 2001)
