Austin Summit on Highway 50 Austin Summit, Highway 50

When you are travelling east-west on Highway 50 in Nevada you are constantly scaling ridges that are situated north-south. It's a never-ending cycle of "climb ridge, reach summit, see beautiful valley, drive ALL THE WAY ACROSS the valley, climb ridge" etc.

This shot was taken at one typical ridge. As usual, there was little traffic so I could stop the car and get out for a shot without much worry. Sarah enjoys a brief spell out of the car (parked at the tip of the summit).
