Vacation 2001 - The Wild, Wild West - Kodachrome Basin
Return to the main Kodachrome Basin section

Barton at Grosvenor Arch Grosvenor Arch

You have to WANT to see this arch. To get to this point you must take a 10-mile drive over a dirt road that is full of rocks, gullies and bumps. They say that the road is completely impassible after a rain - you can trust what they say.

The arch is nice, though, and the drive was an adventure. We would see many more arches at Bryce Canyon before we left Utah. The funny thing here was that after you drove 10 torturous miles to get to the arch area, a smooth, clean sidewalk led from the road right up to the arch formation.
